Reducing bromide levels over the long term

I new here and have high bromide levels of 38.1 mg/24 hours, from the 24-hour

test by Hakala Labs. The lab says the reference range is less than 10 mg/24

hours. I have a couple of questions:

1. Who determined that 10 mg/24 hours is the upper end of the reference range?

What criteria were used?

2. One article by Abraham states that " The organic forms of bromine, when

stored in fat tissue, have half-lives of several years. Organic bromine in fat

tissue is slowly reduced to bromide which contributes to the bromide pool. "

This seems that one might need many years to get rid of bromine from fat cells

and hence bromide that, in Abraham's words, " competes with iodide for uptake and

utilization by the thyroid gland " .

3. How do we make sure bromide absorbed from the environment (say fire

retardants) is excreted instead of store in fat cells as organic bromine?

4. Has anyone here successfully reduced their bromide urine levels down towards

the 10 mg/24 hours upper bound recommended by Hakala Labs? If so, what were your

initial levels, what dose of iodine did you use, and how long did it take you?

Best, JF
