Guest guest
When bromide is on the cell receptors it generally doesn't cause headaches. Usually a bromide headache is because the bromide has been kicked off the cell receptors and is circulating freely in the body. The detox symptoms are all as a result of bromides circulating freely. So no, probably not the source of your headaches. More likely the sinus troubles of the fungus/Lyme. Sinuses drain upwards. They drain as if we were walking on all fours. This is a fact. So when we are standing on our feet, our sinuses have to fight gravity to drain. That is why humans are plagued with sinus problems. --V >I deeply appreciate those on this group and the time you all take out of >your lives to help so many ! > >Someone mentioned a bromide headache in another post and I began to wonder >what kind of headache this is. Guest guest
It can be hard to sort out different kinds of headaches, but a headache that includes face pain is often sinus related, & therefore might respond to a neti pot.AnneOn Apr 20, 2011, at 7:41 AM, Janet A wrote: I deeply appreciate those on this group and the time you all take out of your lives to help so many ! Guest guest
Very interesting about the sinuses draining. What I have found with my horrible headaches is that they are more painful when I'm lying down. They get me up out of a sleep....maybe I should try all fours : ) Thanks , Janet iodine From: vbaker@...Date: Wed, 20 Apr 2011 12:26:55 -0500Subject: Re: Bromide Headache When bromide is on the cell receptors it generally doesn't cause headaches. Guest guest
Thanks Anne. I have used a neti pot in the past for keeping allergies under control. The last two times I tried to use it, one with the correct salt and another time with just RO water, my sinuses burned like the dickens ! Guest guest
Janet,When you use a netti pot there is a ratio of baking soda and fine sea salt. Also I heat up my netti pot and let the salt and baking soda disolve fulling using it. I use it when the water cools off stirring every so often. You can't just use straight water nor straight salt or it will burn. There are packets you can buy at the store for the netti pots if you don't make your home made stuff to put in the water. Guest guest
I have never used baking soda, but you definitely have to have salt. You want to get the level of salt comparable to the saltiness of your tears. I have also found that the temperature of the water makes a big difference on the comfort level. I like mine to be slightly warmer than body temperature.AnneOn Apr 20, 2011, at 4:58 PM, DeNormandie wrote: Janet,When you use a netti pot there is a ratio of baking soda and fine sea salt. Guest guest
It is both baking soda and salt the combination. Look it up on google. It'll tell you what and the measurements. Never straight salt, you're asking to burn then. Guest guest
When I bought my neti pot, years ago, & Googled for recipes, I don't remember seeing any with baking soda, & I have never used anything but salt & the occasional drop of food grade peroxide. Tonight when I Googled, I found all sorts of recipes -- some just salt, some with baking soda, & some with all sorts of weird stuff -- grapefruit seed extract, colloidal silver -- one woman recommended sesame oil! Some of them recommended water at room temperature, which I would find VERY uncomfortable.I have never found plain salt to burn unless I mismeasure the salt or get the temperature on the water too far out of range. But I guess you have to figure out what works for you. There are a lot of recipes to choose from.AnneOn Apr 20, 2011, at 10:07 PM, DeNormandie wrote: It is both baking soda and salt the combination. Guest guest
Sodium bicarbonate and salt. It is closet to what is in the package that comes with the NeliMed brand netti pot. The sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)buffers the salt. it is more gentle on the delicate tissues in your sinuses. Guest guest
I make a mix of about 50% each of salt and baking soda, which is a buffer. I then usually also mix in some xylitol for its antifungal properties. 1/2 tsp of this in 2cups of water seems to work for me. Guest guest
Thanks all for the neti pot suggestions. I will try a baking soda/salt mixture next time. I didn't have problems in the past and I warm the water to a comfortable temperature. I thought that the salt was a key element and what provides a good cleansing.
