Information from the Office for Exceptional Children states that the Autism Scholarship Program proposed rules are up on their website and families may read them and submit their comment. Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) rules - OEC is also updating the ASP rules. The proposed rules have been posted on the ODE/OEC web page. Users may submit comments on the proposed rules electronically. In addition, OEC will be holding five regional meetings to collect public feedback. These meetings will be held in early May. Check the ODE web page using the search phrase “Proposed Autism Scholarship Program Rule Changes.” To view the rules and submit your

comment go to: www.ode.state.oh.us click on Learning condition & support from the left menu then scroll down to students with disabilities and click. This will take you to the OEC home page, then click on Autism Scholarship then you will see the proposed rules. Also ODE has adopted Gifted Education Operating Standards. To veiw these follow the directions above then instead of clicking on student with disabilities, click on Gifted Education Gifted operating standards - the State Board of Education also adopted new gifted operating standards. The new rules have been posted to the OEC Web page. These rules will become effective July 1st, 2008.
