Guest guest
Zucchini Chips Peel and slice zucchini. Lay slices on dehydrator trays. Dust lightly with salt (I put an oven liner pan under the dehydrator tray and sprinkled with a stove- side salt shaker, then could gather up the salt that felt through and put it back in the shaker.)Dry until crisp. Seal in vacuum or snap-top bags. T hey stay crisp for around a week, but can be re-dried, and even if they go leathery, they're still edible. Or you can use the "leathery" slices in a lasagna or other casserole.Wizop Marilyn L. Alm LouisianaSCDLagniappe@... [KosherSCD] 4 Sisters' Coconut Cream Pie (dairy)þ 2 tbl. pure gelatin dissolved in 4 tbl. water1 cup dripped SCD yogurt (I used whole milk)1 cup SCD yogurt (also whole milk)1 tbl. legal vanilla extract1/2 cup coconut cream (well mixed, if it has separated) using the coconut cream I bought from Tropical Traditions http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/coconut_cream_concentrate.htm1/2 cup honey Mix in blender. Pour into pie plate (no need to butter pie plate). Chill until set. Top with toasted coconut (put pure flaked coconut on a toaster tray. Put on "toast" setting and don't move away from the toaster! It takes a very short amount of time for it to brown!) Make it in less than 10 minutes. Shavua Tov (A Good Week!), Ellen in Boston zagorskygoldberg@... To prepare the filling, heat all ingredients together over a double boiler until thick, "creamy", and well-cooked. Pour over cooled crust, put in fridge and let cool for at least 1 hour :-) Pasta with Zucchini Cut a zucchini length-wise to cut the noodles. Then steamed them (not boiled) for about 8-10 minutes.I figured they seemed done when I could twirl them with a fork.
