Guest guest
Does anyone have a child at Biliart using the Autism Scholarship ? We have been using the scholarship for a few years now and our son recently started at Biliart. Well my wife has just come back form a meeting at the school. They are claiming the tuition for students on the scholarship is somewhere around $18,000.00. Now the tuition for Kindergarden there is about $9,000.00. IAM I missing something??? So now we either pull him out or cut his other therapies down to almost nothing. I am having a lot of trouble understanding how they can take twice as much from a scholarship student? I guess it has something to do with the amount of money it ACTUALLY takes to educate a child there, and by law that's what they have to charge. Can anyone shed any light on this? Do I need to start looking for a lawyer? DO I contact Sogan at the ODE? There are numerous things that infuriate me about this. The timing, the unfairness and the complete lack of disclosure of this information prior to enrollment amazes me. Any information or advice would be very welcome and appreciated. Guest guest
By all means call ODE for clarification. Also, perhaps you can just go through your school system now that he is at this school and thriving. I ran into a previous aid for my disabled grand daughter the other week and her son is at this school through his school system, not the scholarship. All fees are paid through the school system. Perhaps you could work through the special education supervisor and prove that this is the least restrictive environment for your son, and the school will transfer through them.
