Hi Becky,

Most offices keep appointments open for emergencies and I've heard of people getting in the next day. How you ask the scheduler is how you'll be scheduled. If you're in dire need, call and tell them you need an appointment as soon as possible and say you need to get in this week. You have to be direct and sure you want in this week for her to hear you the way you need to be heard.

Best Wishes,

n

Any suggestions on how to get in to see a psych/therapist for counseling session fast - I'm on two waiting lists and have one appt in Feb and one in Mar but we need some immediate help/advice on a specific incident (actually, mainly for me and my husband) so we handle things properly. I received the recommendations from the school and called several - but, everyone has a waiting list. So, I went ahead and took the late appts because I couldn't get in any where - very frustrating. How screwed up is our society when you can't get in to see a therapist for two months?!!?? Sorry, but we've had some bad events take place and I'm out of sorts. Any advice is welcomed.

Becky
