Guest guest
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Let's pack the house again! ---------- Forwarded message ----------From: <YOGI1125@...>Date: Thu, Mar 12, 2009 at 10:59 PM Subject: Important update on HB 8 from Doug Krinskyundisclosed-recipients Good evening, The hearing yesterday went well. We had 3 witnesses and the co-sponsors testify on behalf of the bill. We had the hearing room packed! That is exactly what we need to do every hearing!! Please do not be frustrated if you come and don't get a seat. That is our intent every time. The members see how important this bill is to our families and we MUST do that with each hearing. The next hearing date has been scheduled: Wed. 3/18 at 3 PM in room 122 of the Statehouse. This will be the ONLY bill they will be discussing so it is very important we pack the room again! We have 5 more witnesses scheduled to testify next week. We have providers, advocacy groups, small business and large business folks on the agenda. If there are any other business owners that are Chamber members or NFIB members that would like to testify please let me know. There will also be the opportunity for opponents to testify for the 1st time. We anticipate there will be some. Here are the keys: Key # 1 - Call your State Representative and set up an appt with them to discuss the bill. Ask them to support it. You need to keep in mind some will say NO. That is okay. Stay professional and DO NOT GET MAD! It will not help us if any of them get upset because we got upset with them for not supporting the bill. We will get the overall support we need, but it all takes time. Please have patience. Key # 2 - PACK THE ROOM THIS WED - bring your friends, relatives, neighbors, kids, anyone that is able to be there, have them come! Thank all the members when you see them that day for showing interest in the bill. Thank Rep Garland and Celeste! They are our undying leaders here! The Alliance we have put together is very organized and will address all the committee members questions and get the key witnesses we need to hopefully convince the majority of members to vote for the bill. At this point the bill is moving quite quickly. That is very good for us. Let me know if you have any questions. See everyone next Wed at 3 PM!
