Personally, I don't agree. I have two children with special needs (who are both Special Olympics bowlers )and I am very hurt by these comments. It was very poor judgement on his part and these types of comments are what perpetuates the stereotype of our children. If someone made an off the cuff comment like that about race, it would be a whole different story. Remember Don Imus getting fired? Of course, most persons with special needs cannot defend themselves which makes it even more disgusting in my opinion.
