If I am able to buy a product wholesale, but choose to use it for >my family - is there any tax problem? When we fill out our sales tax reports, we are required to list anything bought with our taxfree number that is used for personal use, rather than for resale. so, yes, there are tax implications if you are buying salestax free for resale, but not reselling. Now, the laws vary from state to state...this is how it is in TN... The basic bottom line is that somewhere along the line someone is supposed to pay sales tax...if you don't pay it, you are supposed to collect it from a customer...if there is no customer, you were supposed to pay it.
