Thanks for sharing this info. I have another resource for those in need.

Our son has gone to Dr. Radis in Aurora for specific procedures if sedation is needed. He is compassionate, calm, gentle, thorough and very understanding of children on the spectrum and their sensory issues, fears etc. The anesthesia is not covered by insurance however and needs to be paid up front.

Good luck everyone...this can be stressful for the child and the parents.

Feel free to contact me if you want any more info.

Take care,

Shari

I thought I would share this info that was presented yesterday evening at the ASGC meeting. It's very difficult to find a dentist that will sedate a child for a dental procedure and this Anesthesiologist came to tell the community that she is available to come to any dental office and assist with a procedure. Some of our children on the spectrum do need sedation even if to only clean and check up for their teeth and this is the option she offers. It is expensive and she say's you can file out-of-network for insurance. There are problems getting it covered by insurance because of the dental/medical dispute but you can appeal your claims and the board is trying to get insurance companies to cover this for children who really need this. For now, if you're child is in dire need of dental and needs sedation than this is an option. Here is her brochure: below is a number and website on the back of the brochure: Front of Brochure: Back of Brochure:

We take our kids to Bay Pediatric Dentistry in Bay Village..

Both Dr. Kyrkos and Dr. (can't remember her last night)

are fabulous with our son.. they are patient and quick when they are in there..

Kiernan has now been put under twice to have cleanings and fillings done... they work with the local surgery center there to have him put under (this is great since then our medical insurance will cover that portion of the bill) and then we are just billed for the dental as if it was done in the office... they never charge us extra just to go there and will fit it in their schedule...

They also offer the latest in technology (such as a water drill) which uses water instead of needles to clean out cavaties with no novacaine or anything like that needed..

For anyone on the west side.. I would highly recommend them!
