It's very difficult to find a dentist that will sedate a child for a dental procedure and this Anesthesiologist came to tell the community that she is available to come to any dental office and assist with a procedure. Some of our children on the spectrum do need sedation even if to only clean and check up for their teeth and this is the option she offers. It is expensive and she say's you can file out-of-network for insurance. There are problems getting it covered by insurance because of the dental/medical dispute but you can appeal your claims and the board is trying to get insurance companies to cover this for children who really need this. For now, if you're child is in dire need of dental and needs sedation than this is an option.
