Guest guest
This is taken from the VRAN newsletter, Jan 1999. Alothough U.S. immunization waivers are available, they are limited, difficult to obtain and can be revoked " if necessary to ensure the accomplishment of the military mission " , if for example, it is beleived that there is an imminent risk of exposure to a particular disease. (Paragraph 13 of AFJI 48-110) Religious exemptions can be obtained when the military or civilain personnel are active members of a recognized religious group whose tenents oppose immunization. Obtaining immunization exmeptions for family members of military personnel can be equally difficult and frustrating. Check out http://thinktwice.com for some info on the military too. I know this is not much info but the info is very hard to come by. The whole debate on the Anthrax Vaccine is really heating up right now so vaccine exemptions for military may be something that will be changed in the near future...we can only hope!!
