I have been working with my son for about two years trying to help him lose weight but it is hard if you are not a weight trainer. I just need a little help. Any consideration given me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any help at all. Guest guest
www.freenapkin.com You just pick your state and look at the list of stuff sometimes people give away things like treadmills. Guest guest
The Cleveland Clinic has a great weight management program for kids. I'm sure that it's Medicaid covered and/or covered by ins. Also, the YMCA has scholarships ... you may be able to go to the Y for free if you qualify. As a person who has dealt w/ weight issues most of her life ... I'm certain that simply getting equipment isn't all that helpful. Finding a mentor is a good idea too, Big Brothers may have a mentor that would be willing to work w/ your son. You don't have to be absent a father to participate, however as with almost everything ... there is a waiting list. Also, seeing a dietitian can be extremely helpful. I have found it most helpful to go as a family ... most of the time everyone can improve on their eating/exorcize habits .... even if they are at a normal weight. Good luck, It's a hard battle. Guest guest
University Hospitals/Rainbow Babies also has a wonderful program called Healthy Weight/Healthy Kids. It is actually a research study so there are no costs. I can feel your pain...my daughter was diagnosed with diabetes at age 11....she was 5 foot 4 and 246 lbs at the time. She has now just turned 13, and is down to 210 lbs (and 5 foot 9 inches tall) but it has been very hard. I can promise you though that type 2 diabetes is NO fun. My daughter participates in a wonderful therapeutic martial arts program that has helped her in many ways. > > The Cleveland Clinic has a great weight management program for kids. > I'm sure that it's Medicaid covered and/or covered by ins. > Also, the YMCA has scholarships ... you may be able to go to the Y for free > if you qualify. > As a person who has dealt w/ weight issues most of her life ...
