Good evening, 

 

As you have all heard, at least I hope you have, that Rep Ted Celeste and Rep Garland have introduced HB 8 - Autism Insurance reform - which is a top 10 priority for the House Leadership! 

 

The committee it has been assigned to is the HealthCare Access and Affordability committee.  Their 1st hearing on this bill for the Co-sponsors and proponents is this Wednesday 3/11/09 at 4 PM in Room 113 in the Statehouse.  We need parents, providers, relatives, friends etc to be there.  It is the ONLY bill they are going to discuss.  If we can show them we are serious about this bill by having the room full of advocates, then they will take notice.  The Senate members will also hear about this and it will help us get this bill thru the committee, the full House and then go to the Senate.  We have our witnesses lined up to testify, so we only need bodies at the hearing at this point.  If you want to testify feel free.  We do not need others at this point for this Wed.  We may need others down the road if all goes well though. 

 

Also, if you can now contact your Representative, meet with them and then ask if they will support it and let me know what they say that would be great!

 

We will let you know of future hearings as soon as we find out about them.
