Dear Families,

I received this info from one of our Shaker parents who's actively involved with autism insurance reform in Ohio. The Autism Insurance Reform bill, (HB 8)introduced by Representatives Ted Celeste and Representative Garland, has been assigned to the Health Care Access and Affordability Committee and will have a first hearing on Wednesday, March 11 at 4 PM in room 113 in the Statehouse.

Proponents are looking to fill the room to send a message that this is an important piece of legislation to constituents. Only this bill will be discussed at the meeting. The group organizing this effort has their witnesses lined up; they just need bodies at the hearing to fill the room.

If unable to travel to Columbus, they are asking supporters to contact their state representative and urge him/her to support this important piece of legislation. To quickly locate the name of your state representative, go to http://www.house.state.oh.us/ and search by your nine digit zip code.
