" Then she said that unvaccinated people to not respond well to

antibotics, and

therefore if I don't give him his shots, an earache could kill him. Has

anyone heard this argument before? "

There are a couple things to consider:

1. Antibiotics as a whole are not working as well for people because

they have been OVERPRESCRIBED! In fact, in the US they don't even

prescribe antibiotics for ear infections as often. I remember reading

one study where it discussed how children who take antibiotics for 3-4

days (about 1/2 the time of a regular ear infection) vs. children who

took antibiotics for the full 7-10 days recovered in the same amount of

time.

2. An earache killing him? Probably VERY uncomfortable but I would be

shocked if ONLY an ear infection has ever killed anyone. There were

probably some other circumstances if such a thing even existed. Besides

if there were an ear infection you would know because he most likely

would be picking at his ear, crying, uncomfortable, etc.

3. My daughter got one Hep B vaccine which she then had a serious

reaction to 5 hours later. She has not gotten anymore vaccines. When she

was about 8 months old she had an eye infection. The pediatric

optometrist prescribed antibiotic drops. It was suppose to be 4 drops

per day for 7 days. I gave her a total of 4 drops..just to get her body

started in healing. I did not give her anymore. When I took her back 7

days later the dr. said the eye looked great and to continue the drops

for another 4 days. I said sure...and then did not. Why lower her

body's good bacteria when clearly the eye was in super condition?

4. My sincere belief is that if one does not vaccinate then, due to

society's belief in vaccines, we then assume more responsibility for our

child's health. Part of that responsibility, in my opinion, is

providing whole, organic food if possible, less or no sugar in the diet

(use substitutes such as stevia, honey, etc.) and learning about

diseases, infections, prevention and alt. treatments. I highly

RECOMMEND a book called " Smart Medicine for A Healthier Child " by Zand,

Walton, and Rountree. This book is like a bible to me when it comes to

treating a variety of childhood ailments. It is an EXCELLENT resource

book especially in the middle of the night. I just looked up ear

infections and it has 5 pages on it. (Full 8 1/2 x 11 " pages). It has

dietary restrictions, conventional medication, homeopathy treatments,

herb treatments, ear infection descriptions, nutritional supplements and

prevention.

5. Additionally, if ear infections are a BIG concern then you may

consider getting the things that let you see in the ear. I don't know

what they are called but they are commonly sold here in the US. You can

look in the ear and then there is a picture chart that you can match

what you see in the ear and tell if there is something serious or not.

6. Most ear infections occur in the first couple years of life. After

that once the eustachian tube moves, due to age, the likelihood of

infections decreases incredibly.

After dealing with the hospital, pediatricians, etc. it sounds like this

person is trying to use fear tactics. Get yourself informed, always STAY

informed and you will be ahead of the bunch. Good luck..Definately get

Smart Medicine and the Mendelsohn book everyone has recommended. That is

a SUPER book. I have often said I would move in a heartbeat to where

Dr. Mendelsohn practices...until I learned that he passed away. His

insight and knowledge is sorely missed but fortunately for us he

recorded many of his thoughts.

good luck
