Guest guest
Hello all, We've had a rough year. Our 2.5yob (completely un-vaccinated) has had seizures. Once a year ago due to a fever. Most recently he has had the flu, rsv, sinusitis, double ear infections, cold. All of this within the last month. He became unresponsive and went into seizures last Wednesday. Cat scan normal. All blood work normal. Ended up with antibiotics for sinus infection which cleared up within 24 hours of starting. We tried homeos, herbs, etc., but nothing worked. His last dose of antibiotic was last night. This morning he started to have that look and became unresponsive again. Petit mal seizures. We're going to get an eeg done next week if he will lie still. This will be their final diagnosis for epilepsy (which is what they think). I'm looking for a more holistic approach to epilepsy. I don't want anti-seizure drugs started for obvious reasons. He's had grand mal and petit mal seizures. Anybody know of anyone who stopped them completely? Know of any Dr's specifically relating to seizures who use a natural approach? Any help would be appreciated? We moved to TX a year and a half ago, our lives have been full of sickness since. Any correlation??? Lime plant near us???? There is a doctor in New York, I believe that runs a very controversial program. He takes the kids OFF the meds, and puts them on diets geared to it. A famous director, after getting nowhere with his doctors in LA flew his son out (this was many years after drug treatment after drug treatment) for the stuff and raved about. His son was seizure free, and only had to be on the diet for less than 2 years, I believe. I wish I could remember more. <<Anybody know of anyone who stopped them completely? I believe I have heard of it... but my daughter had " only " febrile seizures, which she grew out of (I believe they were vaccine related). <<We moved to TX a year and a half ago, our lives have been full of sickness since. Change in food (grown with the water), change in air (you're more susceptible to the polution raging across the border which is unchecked). Anything could be the answer. Guest guest
Where in Texas do you live? We just moved away from there but know most of the areas. Maybe I could have a suggestion. Guest guest
> I'm looking for a more holistic approach to epilepsy. Another list I'm on had a posting from someone who had epilepsy as a child who apparently had a magnesium deficiency. Within days of switching to whole foods and magnesium supplements the seizures were gone. When the medical people were told of the turnaround, it was determined that the child had outgrown her seizures! She also mentioned a study from 1958 about epilepsy and magnesium, but did not give details. Regards, Rita
