Guest guest
WONDERFUL!!!! GO AHEAD AND BURST WITH PRIDE!!!! And try to instill pride in your son for his accomplishments. Can I ask what school district you are in and what you feel that the staff that is working with your son has done to help him reach this level? Guest guest
We are in the Cleveland Hts. University Hts school district. The school he attends is called Canterbury and they pretty much specialize in children with ASD. I feel that having an Autism Specialist along with their aides was criticle!! He gets speech, OT, adaptive PE and sometimes sensory breaks. When they see he may need a break, theyu give it to him. He is in a "typical" classroom with 16 other students and they treat him just fine!! Every member of the staff (lunch room personnel included) is very aware of these students and do any and everything they can to help them. I love it there!!! Guest guest
That's great but My son was in that school district for a time and it was a constant struggle to get anything from them. They were a case study in how not to complete an IEPOn Apr 10, 2009, at 19:27, BARBARA COINER <barbcoiner@...> wrote: We are in the Cleveland Hts. University Hts school district. Guest guest
I am very sorry to hear this. My son is still a little young and I am hoping that the last 4 years continue as well as they have. Don't get me wrong, they have made some mistakes and sometimes I have had to just go up there and pretty much express to all involved what I wanted and how I wanted it. Judy Dellequilla (special ed director) has been quite helpful in getting me what I want.
