I applaud the new format. It's easier to read, less clutter and the design is

hip.

I hope LPA sticks with the new design and doesn't cave to pressure from the

'Ol guard.

I meant " OlGuard " as a broad term. I should have said the past administration

Here is an interesting excerp from Dr.D's latest newsletter:

" Opinion Corner:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It drives me crazy when some nutrition or dietician 'expert' who had not ever

heard of a lectin prior to my writings (let alone studied them) criticizes the

lectin connection to Blood Type Diet by stating that 'lectins are destroyed by

cooking, or are broken down by the digestive tract.'

Study after study shows that this is just wrong but since my dietary conclusions

threaten to invalidate just about all nutritional research conducted in the last

twenty years I suspect that the disinformation campaign against the Blood Type

Diet by such vested competing interests as the American Dietetic Association

will continue.

A new study has just been released which shows (yet again) that lectins

interfere with the digestive tract and resist cooking. I reproduce part of the

abstract below:

Br J Pharmacol. 2004 Jul 5 [Epub ahead of print]

Effects of dietary lectins on ion transport in epithelia.

Kunzelmann K, Sun J, Schreiber R, Konig J.

" Phytohemagglutinins are widely distributed in common food items. They

constitute a heterogeneous group of proteins, which are often resistant to

proteolysis in the gastrointestinal tract. Upon binding to the luminal membrane

of intestinal cells, they can interfere with digestive, protective or secretory

functions of the intestine. "

How hard was it to find this study? Not very. All I did was go to MEDLINE and

type in the keywords 'lectins' and 'dietary.'

Pity no one at the ADA ever thought to do that. "

You can subscribe to his newsletter at his website, if interested.

Proud Member of the Autism Collaboration

Sunday February 8, 2009

Five years ago, freelance journalist Deer and the Sunday Times in the UK launched a campaign to discredit the work of Dr. Wakefield. Today they again made additional allegations including "fixing" of data. The allegations have no basis in fact. We would like to share with you Dr. Wakefield's response to Deer's article that ran in the Sunday Times of February 8. Please click here.

Our best,

Ed & Teri

between heart problems and low T3] There is a rT3 on the graph can anybody see
