How to clean pee from mattrace (bed) without using toxic cleaners?

I was wondering if anyone was able to give me some suggestions re. cleaning urine out of a bed mattrace. My son would fully empty his bladder as he is woken by probably a seizure at night. I need to get the stain/odor out and dont know what to use that is safe. Can someone recommend anything? Thank you very much!!

Try cleaning with carpet cleaner/carpet cleaning machine and then spraying with Fabreeze. Then after completely dry, put plastic protector over mattress (zips around entire mattress) and waterproof bedding protector pad under matress cover and/or sheet. This will minimize disaster in the future, and your child will not know they are under the sheets (help with his self esteem.
