Guest guest
Hi , I would use baking Soda, you could try this: sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over area and let it sit overnight then vacuum the next day. Or you can dampen the area then sprinkle a good amount of baking soda on it, let it dry for a few hours and then vacuum. it might not be as good as overnight but will likely reduce the odor. Activated charcoal would help too except it may leave a dark stain but charcoal is usually the best natural odor absorber. My son would fully empty his bladder as he is woken by probably a seizure at night. I need to get the stain/odor out and dont know what to use that is safe. Can someone recommend anything? Thank you very much!!
Guest guest
Thank you to all those wh responded!! I went with the white vinegar thing - it smells of vinegar now but not off pee :-) yay! Btw, I do have a waterproof mattrace cover that is fitted but the plastic gets worn out/tears after a few times in the wash - gets expensive and does not work, really. That particular night last week I did not have the cover on b/c my son has been ripping off the sheets and it was so frustrating to keep him from doing it. He would still sneak and rip the sheets off, despite me trying to have him keep them on, and in the end we were just happy that he went to sleep on top of all sheets, covers, blankets, all the pillows he could find in the house....that's how he has been going to bed lately!! he has to be on top of the pile! he never stops surprising me with the new things he comes up with to sooth himself. Then he had these two accidents last week - one in my bed (he comes to sleep with us in the middle of the night) and one in his own, when I think he was woken very suddenly by a seizure, so he was disoriented and did things he normally would not do. Like in my bed - he actually woke up at 4 am and I was woken by his giggle: he was peeing on my pillow, aiming at them with his urine. This must have been a seizure as he does not do this ever! so, we were a bit caught off guard. He hasnt had accidents like this in months. Something new to discuss with his neurologist :-( I am thankful for all your suggestions. I will look into natural cleaners so that I can have them handy when I need them but the vinegar thing seems to work for now! I wish I could put the mattrace in the sun but it is a KING size - not possible, unfortunately!! Thanks again, have a good weekend. > > Hi , > > I would use baking Soda, you could try this: sprinkle a generous amount of > baking soda over area and let it sit overnight then vacuum the next day.
