Autism Speaks Calls on Congress to End Insurance Discrimination

Autism Speaks launched a national television advertising campaign calling on Congress to put an end to insurance discrimination against children with autism. The ad urges families to call Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Pelosi and tell them that any national health care reform plan that fails to stop autism insurance discrimination is unacceptable. Wisconsin is the 14th State to Enact Autism Insurance Reform

Autism Speaks joined the Wisconsin autism community last week to praise the State Legislature and Governor Jim Doyle for enacting autism insurance reform into law. Independence Day Race Expected to Raise $200,000

Alpha Xi Delta Presents Check to Autism Speaks at Conference

Alpha Xi Delta presented Autism Speaks with a $10,000 check at its biennial convention in Denver, Colo. on June 26. The 144,000 member-strong women's fraternity adopted Autism Speaks as its philanthropy of choice, and the $10,000 check supplements the approximately $21,000 in donations raised by its members at several spring Walks across the country.
