From: Marla Root [mailto:mroot@...] Sent: Thursday, July 09, 2009 10:45 AM'Michele LaMarche'Subject: ASP Advocating Due to the inability of the legislature to get a budget passed it is now effecting families who utilize the Autism Scholarship Program(ASP). We have been informed that ASP providers will not be receiving payments for services already provided until a budget has passed and approval is received to release funds. This has a dramatic financial impact on providers and in turn could immediately interrupt services to students. Please call the following individuals and let them know that this is not acceptable. According to top advocates in the state the Autism Scholarship Program will not be effected by the budget negotiation. The legislature needs to get a budget passed as soon as possible or give the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) immediate approval to release funding to the ASP program providers because it is now effecting the educational services to hundreds of students throughout the state. Please call the following three individuals and if you get a recording please leave a detailed message and your contact information: Speaker of the House Armond Budish614-466-5441Senate President Bill 614-466-8086Governor Strickland's Office, call for Stranford 614-728-7341 Thank you for taking the time to advocate for your child and the ASP program.
