getting ears pierced when unvaccinated

I got my daughter's ears pierced today. They require that the child be

vaccinated for tetanus. I don't plan on vaccinating further but my daughter

did have her first DPT shot, to which she had a violent reaction.

Another couple was getting their baby's ears pierced, too. The baby was

obviously a newborn, couldn't have had the DPT yet. The parents didn't

speak any English and the women pierced the baby's ears anyway.

I'm wondering-- is there really any risk of getting tetanus from sanitary

ear piercing? The risk couldn't be so terrible since the woman working

there pierced the unvaccinated baby.

Or maybe she didn't think vaccines would make a difference.

They use gold posts.

I've heard it all now. This is so silly. This girl was just parroting what some

store owner told her to say to release them from any liablity. This is so

stupid though! I'm sorry you were still harrassed in a sense.

I had my daughter's ears pierced at 1 month old. She was a preemie and not

vaccinated. She has not experienced any problems thus far. I hope that

these ear piercing facilities will not become mandated to ask for

vaccination proof...that's a bit much.
