Hey Dan:

I was forward this website, it's more for firefighters and EMS but I think this would also be good for the police force. The materials are already available. Check it out, Barb

See below

I’ve been visiting that site for several years, bought the video and books, and went to one of Dennis Debbaudt’s presentations. In the summer of 2007, I contacted police and EMS personnel in my districts to tell them about a presentation, and to invite them to borrow materials for their own trainings.A good site that I believe I found through Dennis Debbaudt’s website is http://woodsidefire.org/words.shtml This is a fire dept in California that developed an excellent program called When Words Are Not Enough, used for police and EMS personnel to communicate with people with cognitive and communication disorders. Before I contacted the local departments, I

ordered the complimentary materials provided by Woodside Fire Dept and made our local emergency services aware of their existence. The complimentary materials are excellent, and extras can be ordered for a nominal fee. I encourage other mentors to check this out.Moira LaughlinGreene County Parent MentorGreene County ESC360 East Enon RoadYellow Springs , OH 45387937-767-1303 x128 mlaughlin@... “How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving
