Guest guest
Hi! I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself and share my daughters story. My name is Stacey and my 14 month old daughters name is Carly. She has had an adverse reaction to the hepatitis-b vaccine. She has what her Dr. calls a strange leg posturing, where she crosses her legs and tightens the muscle to the point you can't undo them while simutaneously clasping her hands together. She will do this sometimes 20-30 times in a row with many episodes like this a day. All of her gross motor skills that involve her legs are delayed due to this. She just recently has learned to get herself into a sitting position and pull up into a standing position. The Drs. are clueless - they have never seen this posturing before. We don't know where to turn for help if anyone has any suggestions. We've tried a pediatrician, a pediatric neurologist and a orthopedic. Also, since this happened and I've done some research I would like to stop vaccinating all my children. My son is entering the 6th grade in the fall and he must get a MMR booster before the start of school. We are from Georgia and here we only have medical and religious exemptions. I don't think my religion would qualify and I know my pediatrician would not back me up on the medical exemption. How does everyone else get around these laws. I know everyone can't be home schooling. Any feedback would really be appreciated! Stacey

My understanding is that you do not need to belong to a specific religion to take a religious exemption. You do, however, need to sign a sheet infront of a notary stating you have a religious objection. I haven't done this yet since my kids are only 2 yo and 4 yo so I don't know how it will all work. I also don't know if it is more likely to be questioned if the child has had previous inoculations. Best of luck. Please feel free to email me directly.
