Tragic Secret Of Vaccinations Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues at Britain's Royal Free Hospital dropped the bomb in the prestigious medical journal, The Lancet. In the Feb. 28, 1998, issue, they reported that MMR vaccine may cause gastrointestinal problems that can lead to autism. Dr. Wakefield called for a ban of the combined MMR vaccination. (MMR stands for measles, mumps and rubella.) All hell broke loose. Suddenly, the doctor symbolized an international threat to the status quo. He was attacked and vilified, standard operating procedure against those who question immunization safety or advisability. Wrong, his detractors cried! Right, refuted Theresa and Cedillo of Yuma. But far, far too late for their daughter, . On Dec. 20, 1995, Theresa took for her first MMR vaccination. Trusting, unquestioning, always conscientious, Theresa made sure the shot was right on schedule. At the time, was a typical toddler of 16 months--happy, bright, loving. Talking. Two weeks later, the Cedillo family began their torturous descent into the immunization abyss. That Friday, 's temperature spiked at 104. For the next few weeks, it hovered between 100 and 105. Flu, the doctor said; it's going around. But Theresa and were worried. was listless, seemingly depressed. Worse, they noticed she was uncommunicative and no longer talked. Equally disconcerting: Their little girl refused eye contact with anyone. Something akin to panic began to set in. The family wondered. Could it be the MMR shot? Slowly, surely, her condition grew progressively worse. 's hearing seemed to vanish overnight. Removing her from the relative safety of her home was a virtual nightmare; she cried in her car seat, screamed in the supermarket, shrieked around people. Months went by. Every day was a personal, wrenching struggle. One morning, for no apparent reason, started flapping her hands non-stop. The extended Cedillo family circled around, loving and supporting. Friends and neighbors struggled with the incomprehensible. Theresa and realized that their world had taken a sudden, irrevocable turn for the worse. And there was no going back. " Prayer and our faith in God got us through, " Theresa told me. But nothing was easy. Theresa stopped sleeping; fought off depression. The family arranged for to see a child psychologist at Arizona State University. They were stunnedto hear the dreaded word " autism " for the first time. " From what? " Theresa cried. " How? Why? " There were no answers. A month later, a neurologist confirmed the diagnosis. As impossible as it was to believe--as difficult as it was to accept-- Cedillo, their bright, loving only child, had suddenly, inexorably emerged as autistic. Theresa and her mother plunged into a worldwide research effort. They initiated hundreds of phone calls, stalked libraries and bookstores, searched the Web. Their worst fears were confirmed by the National Vaccine Information Center. Researchers, it turned out, had linked MMR-- a " live " vaccine--to cases of autism. In Britain, Dr. Wakefield pinpointed the specific cause and arrived at an identical conclusion. " You know, " Theresa said, " I always thought if there was some kind of a reaction, you could go to the hospital and fix it. But once that vaccine is in there, there's no way to get it out. She exists in her own private little world, communicating only when she feels like it. Although her talking is limited to occasional phrases, most eye contact has returned. plays outside, but still prefers the relative safety behind closed doors. She rarely flaps her hands any longer. She is revolted by slippery, slimy things, silly putty and sand paper-like surfaces. For now, school seems out of the question. After almost three years of research, Theresa and now know the disheartening truth: is a tragic victim of a misguided, predatory national immunization policy in which supposed benefits far outweigh minimal risks. The shameful, national secret is that no-one ever reveals the inherent risks, which include serious life-long disability and even death. " If only we had the slightest idea, " Theresa declared, " 's life would be so different today. But no one said a word. " Last month, the government of France banned hepatitis B for adolescents. French researchers discovered a link between the vaccine and multiple sclerosis. Hepatitis B is routinely administered to newborn babies in America. Without doubt, the U.S. national immunization policy is an unmitigated disaster. There are literally thousands of victims suffering from countless varieties of appalling, life-long adverse reactions. Meanwhile, the silence and the subterfuge continue unabated. How many more s must be sacrificed before we wake up? ~~
Guest guest
I know this is a vaccine related egroup, but I've seen a lot of posts about autism. I'm guessing someone knows about it. My daughter (19 months tomorrow) has epilepsy, and I'm afraid that it might be more. I've been researching and found something called Landau Kleffner Syndrome. It's related to both autism and epilepsy. I won't get into huge detail, but it does say that kids start exhibiting autistic like behaviours, like arm flapping. Anyone know when arm flapping becomes an issue versus just something the kid's doing? Any info would be appreciated. Re: Vaccine/Autism link From: austinsmom@...
