Clear-Out "

The Medina County - S.E.E.K., Inc. is providing a Parent Only Support Meeting

at the Medina City Library. Farmer and Vickie Fetsko will be providing

access to all of their personal support material for reviewing, writing and

planning your child's IEP. If you have a laptop – bring it! & Vickie

will assist families during these two hours. Please bring your IEPs and your

questions. ALSO, we will be giving out any extra information from past meetings

made available from different organizations (ONE copy per family please).

Registration is required by emailing us at SEEK4LD@... . This meeting

does not have a minimum participant requirement – so it will not be canceled.

3. May 26, 2009 – Tuesday – 6:00pm to 9:00pm – " IEP Training for Parents "

The Medina County Schools' Educational Service Center is offering " IEP Training

for Parents " at their location on 124 West Washington Street, Medina

(lower-level conference room). Join other parents for an evening of information

and special education updates! This training will provide you with the new IEP

form and helpful information you will need to participate on your child's IEP

team as an equal partner with educators. Reservations can be made by calling

at (330) 723-6393 ext. 125 or emailing to lgehring@... .

Reservation Deadline is Monday, May 18, 2009.

4. Date to Be Scheduled in May – 9:30am – 11:00am – " OCECD Transition Planning Q

& A "

Recently S.E.E.K. needed to cancel a scheduled training from the Ohio Coalition

for the Education of Children with Disabilities (OCECD) due to low registration.

We understand that several families had specific questions and needed the

information that would have been presented. Lyke, OCECD has graciously

offered to present a " Transition Planning Discussion " via speaker phone at

Vickie Fetsko's home in Medina. I can accommodate 6 parents. You will receive

the information from the original training scheduled, which will be reviewed for

30 minutes before Mrs. Lyke will begin the Q & A session from 10:00-11:00. This

is not a full training session. The date is not yet set as schedules are being

reviewed, but will be announced soon. Reservations will be on a first-come,

first-serve basis. Medina – S.E.E.K. is considering this format as a future

option for topics that interest a smaller number of parents.

Best regards,

Vickie Fetsko, Treasurer
