Guest guest
Hi...I attended yesterday and for the dinner last night. Very good job! Boyd Haley was fantastic...and so eternally determined to help get our kids better. He wants to get a new chelator in use, as he said DMSA and DMPS are 60 years old. He went into the scientific picture of how...but getting it approved by FDA could be long...but he is an optimist...and so am I. I was a bit confused about Buttar's presentation..and not that it was too technical, as it was just the opposite. He talked 95% about his reactions/feelings to criticisms, his life, his son, his feelings about God...and "the circle"...and the rest on how the power point was taking too long. I was disappointed. K (are you on that beach yet) was wonderful!! He spoke with passion and determination about getting the word out,,and how this has changed his life, and how he is ready "to take the gloves off for any debates"...lots of applause and appreciation from the audience...and FAIR and EOH DAy were equally applauded! The ads that FAIR showed regarding Bush and his promise (now broken) to get thimerosal out, were the BEST!! The message on each one ....."it is stupid to put mercury in children"......I can't do justice to them but hopefully they will be up soon on the web.....I'm probably forgetting a million things but stayed out a bit late and am a bit foggy today. Guest guest
Andy, Next week go to the autism one website. Click on contact and e- mail Jim Donnelly. He has cd's with everyone's presentation. I'm sure he would send you one. Guest guest
The latest autism conference is taking place in the US ( Chicago) this week-end. Very interesting the report about dealing with the testosterone ( Autistic and dyslexics are overwhelming male!!). Dr. Megson an old time Paediatrician who gave testimony to the US Congress on increasing ADHD/Dyslexia cases is using this protocol also. Lots of metals coming out of the kids (only autistics to date) once the testosterone is lowered. Hmm I'll try to find out what blood parameters would indicate high testoserone. Apparently elevated testerone in itself is not an indice. It would be interesting to look at Dyslexic's labs......I have a VERY strong hunch this might be the smoking gun!!! The packers are coming tomorrow. [ ] Re: Autism One If anyone has lecture notes, hand outs, copies of presentations, etc. I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd share them with me. Guest guest
Whoops. I wanted to send this to a Dyslexia researcher..... I DO think though the testosterone angle has strong merit and await with baited breath more reports about people using a testerone lowering protocol. Actually I'm quite excited about this..... Guest guest
This is what Dr. Megson has explained to me. You lower their testosterone by administering Lupron. Lupron is a prescription med that has long been used to treat precocious puberty. You lower it for only three months. The mercury is then pulled out in sheaths.. Large amounts of mercury come out. She had a nine year old patient that was nonverbal. After this treatment, he is now talking in sentences. I have not heard how or if this treatment could be used with girls. She has been working with the Geirs on this. It sounds very interesting. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. Guest guest
A very brief hello from Chicago! The Autism One conference is over and I can safely report it has been AWESOME. There's loads to tell but with 5 mins left of credit on this internet line I need to second what's been said below about the Buttar presentation - very high on emotion, extremely lacking in data. In fact NO new data AT ALL!! Very disappointing. On a postive note, he did say he now has more recovered kids (28 instead of 21 last time) but I couldn't find any of their parents at the conference, or anyone who knew them. I did get the feel from talking to him that the guy has his heart in the right place....he was still talking to crowds of parents about TD-DMPS at 1am last night.....and he did say he has a PhD person currently compiling his data, so we'll see.... Another big story from the conference is the testosterone/ Lupron story. Time has beaten me, more updates when I get back from USA on June 5th. Liora will have news before then I expect. Sharon PS Mandi I got that pic of Devin for you.... Desperate4DMPSEurope , " sharon_asd_uk " <sharon_asd_uk@h...> wrote: > > > > > > > Hi...I attended yesterday and for the dinner last night. Guest guest
I don't know all the ways she could test for testosterone. We are not currently considering this for our son, thus we didn't get into all the details. She mentioned checking testosterone levels in the blood. However, a ck2 parent said that her son's blood tests were normal. However, they did a bone scan and it showed her nine year old's bone age to be almost thirteen years old! They are set to soon begin the protocol. Someone on the ck2 list summarized it better than I did. The idea is that mercury binds to testosterone, which makes it more difficult to mobilize. If you turn off the testosterone, then you aggressively chelate. Many of these kids have high testosterone because once it is bound up with the mercury, the body does not recognize it. So, the body keeps just pumping out more testosterone. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. Guest guest
Lupron lowers the testosterone level and frees up the mercury so it can be chelated out. Guest guest
One problem I have here is that Dr. Megson isn't up on the research on the environmental toxin phthalic acid and its metabolites. They interfere with testosterone and may be one of the problems facing male children. My talk at Autism One spoke to it. Not being an MD I can't speak to Lupron but I wonder about the concept. Mark Schauss, MBA, DB www.carbonbased.com [ ] Autism One Just returned from autism one. It was wonderfull! Kirby, Jill , Maddy Hornig, Andy Wakefield, Mark Baxil, the Geiers and too many more excellent presenters to mention. Some things of interest. Boyd Haley talked about DMSA and DMPS. He says they work but pointed out their flaws. He is working on a water soluble lipoic acid chelator. He went through the chemistry showing why ALA is a better chelator. He mentioned the SH- groups are much closer together on ALA and thus keep the mercury better contained. Dr. Buttar said there is only one protocol for TD-DMPS, every 48 hours with minerals given on the off days. He asked people to stand if they would be upset if TD-DMPS would no longer be available. Ninety per-cent of the 400 or so people stood up. He spent alot of time defending his protocol and research. AMT is the only brand he endorses. Much talk about testosterone and mercury. The Geiers showed how testosterone and mercury form a compond which cannot be removed from the cells. After removing the testosterone with Lupon, metals started coming out again after they had stopped. Several interesting case studies. note: These are my best interpretaions. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks, but FAIR didn't do those ads. That was Unlocking Autism! :-) I agree, I think those ads are TERRIFIC and are gonig to have a BIG impact! To give you an idea what we at FAIR were up to at the conference,... we interviewed Kirby, Betsy Hicks, Sueson Vess, Jill , Bill Walsh, Mark Blaxill, Mady Hornig, Boyd Haley, Sallie Bernard, Gilmore, Donna Gates, Barbara Loe Fisher, Jo Pike, Doreen Granpeesheh, Temple Grandin, Mark & Geier, Jeff Bradstreet, Sykes, Megson (for you, kathy!), Mark Schauss, EOH's very own Booton, Bety Palo, Lenny Schafer, and Sovern. We got GOLD at this conference, and we're going to DOUBLE the size of our media center just as soon as we can get the material processed and posted. Guest guest
, Thank You! It really means a lot. Our site actually got a little criticism today from Dr. Mercola. He didn't like the design and thought that our content was buried too deep in the site. I'll see what I can do to improve the usability even further. Perhaps more direct access to the videos from the home page? Thanks again, FAIR Autism Media http://www.autismmedia.org/media1.html BTW, our " fame " preceeded us at the conference! I was pleasantly surprised at how many of my fellow EOH list mates approached me! One mom from the parents.com board came up to me, jokingly and said, " HI! I'm Dangermama! " Hilarious! She had me for a moment! (as some of you may know, " Dangermama " would never go to such an event!) > > > Hi...I attended yesterday and for the dinner last night. Very > good > > > job!
