Guest guest
This is interesting. We went to her for the first time last month and my son has PANDAS and Aspergers and she showed no interest in treating him and basically sent a letter to our ped sayin she and Dr. Berger passed on our case( He left Univ to do research and teaching and wrote us antibiotics before he left). I thought she was very rude. I came prepared with a notebook and history and she wanted nothing to do wih us. > > As many of you are already aware as of July Dr. Klein is no longer seeing patients. For those of you who have children who were patients of hers I was curious as to whom you have now chosen as your pediatric Neurologist. Please share. Thanks. >

Guest guest
I am sorry to hear so many had a negative experience with Dr. Klein. She'd been our neurologist for 8 years and we had a wonderful relationship with her. Unfortunately, she wanted to work part-time, and that practice was just not going to allow her to do that so she has left medicine altogether. I think the system burned her out. She recommended we see a developmental pediatrician at Rainbow so that is where we are headed next. In the meantime, our regular pediatrician, Dr. Kammerman, who has a son with Aspergers, is handling my son's medications. Again, Dr. Klein was a great doctor, I'm sorry she was so rude to so many of you in the past year or so. I know she was really unhappy at UH but that is no excuse to be rude. Guest guest
Go to Dr. , kidslinkohio.com, she will take good care of you in you have a little time to wait while her pregnancy is over....I know she is out of network and that makes it difficult but you don't have to like have an appointment every month...just every 2-3 months...there are also grant sources out there that can help you with the cost, contact me if you need help with this... > > > > As many of you are already aware as of July Dr. Klein is no longer seeing patients. Guest guest
I took my son to Dr Klein also. She was recommened by our school system. Which should have been a red flag. She was terrible. We now see Dr Freidman with Cleveland Clinic and are much happier. Guest guest
Just a thought, do you qualify for assistance through your county MRDD department? There are funds available through them if you qualify. Guest guest
You can apply for grants from a variety of sources, most income based... if you can give me a day or two I can post a compilation I have, I just havent gotten around to pulling it up yet, but I know of at least 3 or 4 sources... NAA-NEO's (my organization) deadline for once-a-year applications is usually November 15-ish....and we give it to most families, in some sort of an order based on need..... and you can use the funds for anything approved and autism related incl. doctors' visits.... I will get back to you in a day or so.... Thanks, > > > > > > As many of you are already aware as of July Dr. Klein is no longer seeing patients. Guest guest
Usually not approved for medical expenses...but if you push hard for it they may be able to make an exception.... > > > > > > As many of you are already aware as of July Dr. Klein is no longer seeing patients. Guest guest
Basically what I am finding is that I work so I do not qualify for benefits but if I quit, what will I be able to afford? We are at a crossroads right now.........quit and have more time with him but can't afford what he needs or stay working and at least pay for some of the things that he is getting now. I was very excited about the easy and free diaper program that was advertised in this group only to find out I don't qualify because I don't qualify for Medicaid. Didn't even know what medicaid was until I inquired about the diaper program. Yes, I am working with MRDD and she informed me yesterday that I don't qualify for things such as medicaid; there is no more money this year thru ARC and the Medicaid Waiver waiting list is VERY long. She did tell me there were a couple grants that are not income based. I will certainly try for those. Thanks to all. If you have a list of grants that you can post, I would be interested in trying. We are looking now at downsizing our house so I can go part time perhaps. Am now wondering what are good school districts for special needs children? Ulrich 330-554-3907 kulrich629@...
