Guest guest
Anyone seen Dr. Magiera a child psychiarist at University? Dr. left in Aug. and he replaced him. He was so skeptical of me it was creepy. All because I hadn't started Rsperdal, Dr. had prescribed in June. He had prescribed two changes in June and I didn't want to do both at once. He gave me a lashing on how I could find a different Dr. if I wasn't going to follow his instructions. I explained how confusing and overwhelming med changes are to moniter and the adverse reacions we had had and how I really didn't want to go off Abilify and onto Risperdal until we had tried adding clonidine with the abilify first. I had taken my son to Bethesda MD to a neurologist for PANDAS and he seemed against the steroid burst we were using and PANDAS in general. I told him if Dr's in OH aren't going to help with PANDAS in OH then we have no choice but to go to the ones that are treating it out of state. He seemed so against me like he said we had coached my son and told him words like echoalia (first time I ever heard him use it and I know he heard it in Dr. 's office and had liked the word!) He even asked him in private if we have beat him up? He felt my stress level was affecting my son and I may need help? I told him I just need to get him better and not having the meltdowns and poop accidents all day everyday. He just didn't seem to get AS or PANDAS or the stress it puts on a family. I have 4 kids it is loud and the kids get irritated at his verbal tics and tantrums. He told me my son needs a calm quiet atmosphere that is more relaxing like his clinical setting. Now is that realistic? I guarantee that guy has no kids and hasn't been out of a teaching environment (senior instructor) for long. Very poor people skills! I left there two hours later feeling very beat up! I miss Dr, he was so nice. Why are good Dr's so hard to find and keep in OH?
