I went back and saw the sulfite list. Thank you again. I was readingall of last weeks posts and noticed that regaining sense of smell doesnot seem to be a benefit of desens.I can smell for about a week if Ihave just had prednisone. I was wondering if, at 46, I hold the record for 6 nasal polypremovals and 2 maxillary sinus (thru the upper lip) surgeries. Notthat I am looking for points, but having just had one a couple monthsago, I find it depressing to think that it was only after my reactionto aspirin this year that the word Samters came up (of course onlythen was there a Triad) and I see that maybe Samters patients haverecurring polyps. At any rate, I am still struggling to contol thepolyps. The desens scares me because my mother has heart disease (andher side of family) and I wonder about the aspirin and strokes etc.Also, I haven't noticed an answer to my question about aspirin andyour stomach? Prednisone fixes all of my problems for about 3 weeks,but it scares me to take that too. Which of the evils is the best? Mydoctor recently told me that such a small dose of prednisone anddeclining for a week is not that bad for me. Not like the people thattake massive doses daily and always. Hmmm. anyone know about that?Also, I know that Accolate and Singulair are similar and wonder why mydr. insisted I try Accolate instead of Singulair when I told him thatall of you are recommending Singulair? I will have to check on that.And he recommended Flonase, which doesn't seem to do much. And now thebig thing is a rinse for possible fungal problems. He thinks this is a"hidden" problem that they have just discovered and he heard it atStanford at a big seminar. The fungal rinse burns I know that much. Ican't imagine after a bottle of this that I will be better, but Ishall give it a try like the rest. ok, I will stop, since we aretrying to make these shorter.
