Accolate vs. Singular vs. Prednisone vs. Surgery vs. Aspirin desens.

I went back and saw the sulfite list. Thank you again. I was reading

all of last weeks posts and noticed that regaining sense of smell does

not seem to be a benefit of desens.I can smell for about a week if I

have just had prednisone.

I was wondering if, at 46, I hold the record for 6 nasal polyp

removals and 2 maxillary sinus (thru the upper lip) surgeries. Not

that I am looking for points, but having just had one a couple months

ago, I find it depressing to think that it was only after my reaction

to aspirin this year that the word Samters came up (of course only

then was there a Triad) and I see that maybe Samters patients have

recurring polyps. At any rate, I am still struggling to contol the

polyps. The desens scares me because my mother has heart disease (and

her side of family) and I wonder about the aspirin and strokes etc.

Also, I haven't noticed an answer to my question about aspirin and

your stomach? Prednisone fixes all of my problems for about 3 weeks,

but it scares me to take that too. Which of the evils is the best? My

doctor recently told me that such a small dose of prednisone and

declining for a week is not that bad for me. Not like the people that

take massive doses daily and always. Hmmm. anyone know about that?

Also, I know that Accolate and Singulair are similar and wonder why my

dr. insisted I try Accolate instead of Singulair when I told him that

all of you are recommending Singulair? I will have to check on that.

And he recommended Flonase, which doesn't seem to do much. And now the

big thing is a rinse for possible fungal problems. He thinks this is a

" hidden " problem that they have just discovered and he heard it at

Stanford at a big seminar. The fungal rinse burns I know that much. I

can't imagine after a bottle of this that I will be better, but I

shall give it a try like the rest. ok, I will stop, since we are

trying to make these shorter. Charlotte

he has a hearing loss from shooting.
