Guest guest
Hi Lori, Yes it's definitely Samters, and after a weekend away in a totally different environment things were completely different. As soon as I returned to the heat and humidity things started returning once again. /meds , I lookd it up and Panadol Forte contains codeine. I can't take codeine as I get bad itches, but maybe others could. We have something called Tylenol #3 but it does not have the decongestant or anything in it. If you have Samters for sure I really don't think it is environmental. I have lived in my different places and it does not really improve for me in different climates. Some people here have theorized that a change in environment/elimate can actually set off Samters, and for me that may have been true, as the first time I moved was to go to college in Texas, which was a very different climate. And there I first developed Samters. Then my first aspirin reaction came when I lived in London, which is very damp. Lori
Guest guest
, I didn't mean to say that you couldn't feel better in different environments, just that I would be surprised if the change is permanent. If you move and the change is permanent, definitely let us know! I would consider moving somewhere if it improved my health that much. I just don't know if there is a place that can do that, at least for me. Guest guest
Lori I think a lot would depend on the individual. What works for me may not for others. I moved from a humid tropical environment to a cold and snowy environment for almost a year and the difference was incredible. Within the first month nearly all my symptoms went. It was only after I returned to Australia that my symptoms returned. My suggestion would be to perhaps go for the opposite of where you're living now, and go for a holiday of at least three weeks to try it out. /meds > > , > > I lookd it up and Panadol Forte contains codeine. Guest guest
Where I live the weather is very different in the winter than in the summer -- it's hot and humid in the summer and cold and dry in the winter, and my symptoms are not better or worse in either season. So I'm not sure what to make of that. If you can find an environment that works better for you permanently, that is great. I just have not been able to find one that works better on a long-term basis. Lori (I've been up watching the tennis in Australia all night tonight!) Guest guest
If you are only on Singulair and Spiriva I doubt you ever will be able to come off the prednisone. You are not on any inhaled steroid. Spiriva is not for asthma. It's for COPD. Some of us do have a COPD component but you probably need an inhaled asthma medication as well as the Spiriva. Get on an inhaled steroid and your need for a small dose of prednisone will probaly go away after a couple of weeks (don't stop taking the prednisone right away, however).
