dry skin issues

I don't think this is related to Samters -- if you are hypothyroid

that is a definite culprit, and menopause also can cause very dry

skin. I have been in menopause twice from chemotherapy and most

recently in 2007 I experienced severely dry skin from the menopause.

AmLactin is a moisturizer that used to be prescription but it's now

over the counter in the States (and cheap at Costco). That can help

a lot. Also you may have to count down to showering/bathing to once

a week, and always moisturizing right after you do shower, while your

skin is still moist. Otherwise the shower will just take the

moisture right out of your skin. You can clean yourself, but

showering every day or even every other day will only make your dry

skin worse.

If these do not help, you may need to see a dermatologist. They can

prescribe prescription creams, but most stuff is over the counter

these days.
