Guest guest
I have been on Medicaid for the past year now.If you can find a doctor willing to take it, it's great. Luckily the doctor I see was willing to take me because my mom was a long time patient of his. but honestly it seems like lately, more and more doctors are reluctant to take Medicaid patients. It's not like it used to be. A doctor friend of mine said the reason is - is that Medicaid only pays about 1/3 of the actual cost of the procedure. So doctors are wanting patients with insurance that will pay the full amount vs. someone that they can only get 1/3 of the amount. It's a Godsend for prescription medication though - Singulair cost used to cost me about $130 a month Flonase about $100 and that amount on a restricted budget is a nightmare. I have applied for Medicaid this morning to help me with my co-pays. I am 57 years old, so has anyone used Medicaid to help them financially?
