I have read more babies are born, more crimes are committed, and more people become unbalanced during a full moon. I, too, would like to learn what people think about full moons. Maybe a full moon affects healing somehow? Sept. is the HARVEST MOON, so what is Oct.. all saints day,whatever that is... in Celtic,it is when we honor the dead,our ancestors, this is a good thing, put out a dish of food and remember the good about them. I will think of ones that have gone over to the Spirit world, and remember the fun we had, share the memories, let them know they are still thought of and still alive in our hearts. and we will rejoice one day together.. Here in Belgium it's only important and known for the dangerous waterheight sometimes (when there is storm) But for myself, yes it's attractive to go outside and just sit somewhere and looking at the sky, enjoying the nature and his splendid energy that moment. Like having an empowerment, wanting to embrace that big white-silvery ball their high in the sky, wanting to fly to there and then observing the earth that would be great to do. Feeling oneself little compared to the universe but thankfull for being part of that beautifull happening. And I was born on a full moon! What the moon also got as attraction for the health was when my brother was young and ill. He got severe migraine as a child and everytime the full moon approached, his energies changed. He became more out of equilibration and the day of the full moon he was everytime very ill. Sometimes he lost conciousness of where he was for about 15 mins, vomid much, knocked his head against wall, furniture, got feaver, so our family knew we had to take care of him those days. Once the full moon over he was released of all those symptoms but everytime he was growth a bit. But luckily for him everything came good and passed when he became an adult. So I know it does something to the body too, for some much impact, for other maybe less visible. In the wicca you learn also more about the impact of the moon for the fauna but I think everybody here knows that. It is a time to be creative and give thanks for the nurturing and abundance that our earth mother so freely gives. In the brightest of the nights, it is the perfect time to tune into your body and act as compassionate as our earth mother would. Use your intuition and ask your body what it needs, what it would like. Pamper yourself. It is also the perfect time to meditate on what you desire, with all the creative energy flowing around your sure to be inspired in new ways. The moon does very much so affect healing, just as it affects the tides. Because everything, including a disease (or imbalance, as I like to call it) inside your body vibrates at a different rate, each has an appropriate phase of the moon to be treated. Just as certain herbs and stones correct the imbalance in your body, so does the earth's energies if you will work with her. A few things that come to mind for the full moon... Respiratory ailments are best treated during the waxing and full moon with Cedar and Blue quartz. Dry skin is treated in waning and full moons with Juniper, Citrine quartz and Obsidian. Hyperactivity Impetigo and Memory are treated during the full moon with Patchouli, Milky Quartz and White marble. Marty, though we didn't have books telling us how we had to wipe our butts, we did have a deeper understanding of how this land is so very connected to our being. Maybe you can talk about the season of autumn, how it was a time of celebration for the abundance of crops, and a time of preparation for the winter to come? Spiritually speaking it was a time to go within, like the bear does. A time to hibernate in our own thoughts soaking up the events and lessons of the year, so we could reemerge with the wisdom of those lessons and bright new ideas on how to apply that wisdom with spring.
