(ie. DRX9000). I have seen multiple adds regarding spinal decompression and it's " so-called " effectivness, especially the part on how much money they make...CASH. Anybody out there have personal testimony with spianl decompression units or DRX9000? Message #2 Hi there, I have had personal experience with the DRX9000 in my old office. While I was in my office in New Orleans as an associate we had one in our office with both Lumbar and Cervical attachment. Here is the good news and the bad news. First of all the machine is great, I saw a lot of changes with patients when they followed through with their care plan. I would use it myself and it was very helpful. I would see even better results in the cervical than I would in the lumbar spine. The bad news is, the machine is freaking expensive, it looks like a spaceship, which is very cool for the office, however I think it is around 150,000 for both parts. The other thing is you need to talk to someone about reimbursement, when we used it, it was not great and no one could tell us the proper codes. Some of that may have changed and it may be better. They will advertise it as a cash only for around 3200.00 for 20 treatments. If you can collect that from every patient than this will be a good machine. I did speak with a patient in the Northeast who said he used the DRX9000 at a medical office and when he got the EOB it said 35,000 paid by the insurance company to the M.D. My advice is that it is a great machine, however have your ducks in a row as far as collections and billing. Also there is one by Chattanooga, that is not as pretty and much smaller but it costs around 10,000( that is a big difference) plus you can do carpal tunnel with it. If I were to get one in my new office, that is the route I would go. Hope this helps. Message #3 PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT ABOUT DECOMPRESSION!!! Spinal decompression is considered to be excluded from reimbursment by Medicare. In SC last year, Palmetto GBA recovered over $200,000 paid to all provider types for decompression billed and then paid. If you would like some help with this coding issue, please contact me at [deleted by forwarder]. ------ End of Forwarded Message
