Ice & back pain

hi everyone

I put a ice pack on my back every hour yesterday and before bed. I had to work today from noon til 5 pm so I put ice all morning every hour for 15 min each time. I have a ice pack in my freezer that works perfectly. I just put inside a pillow case. I also did the "laying on the floor" with my feet/legs up on the couch, and did the pelvic move something like that machine "back2life". I did that for about 10 min.

My legs did not hurt at work but my low back did. having my legs not hurt is a good thing. I have to walk and be on my feet all during my work shift. I came home this evening and put the ice on again... and getting ready to ice again. I think the ice might be helping some... but more time will tell.

My sister told me she is taking that "Cymbolta" for depression and did not realize how much it did for pain. she said she ran out of cymbolta and noticed that she hurt alot. after she got her meds.... the pain was way less. So I will look into geting some cymbolta.

ShannaJoke: The sky is falling...no, I'm tipping over backwards.

The neurologist had me buy a walker with a seat. I use it to wash dishes and do other kitchen tasks. Also I use it anytime I know I'm going to be somewhere that doesn't have seats for me to use. For instance, I made sure I carried it with me to vote recently. I wasn't sure how long the line would be. I can't stand for very long. Joan

I can't remember if it is in a Carol s catalog or a Dr Lenards catalog. but I have seen a three legged stool with rollers and a seat that you can sit on the seat, but still be in a standing up position and walk around as needed, but still take weight off your hips and legs. Something like that or even just a bar stool tall enough to be able to sit and stir stuff on the stove should be of help.Debbie and Ian McKinley (BMD since 93)no litters Kansas http://home. hit.net/~ dimck/http://www.flickr. com/photos/ dimck23/ (200 carting photo)

I have a swimming routine also. It takes me an hour and a half three days a week. It is what keeps me moving. My only problem is when the pool is closed at the Y since I don't have a pool of my own. Joan
