Dr.Sears in the book "Toxic Fat"says that very low dose aspirin(1/2 baby ASA per day) and high dose fish oil generates epi-lipoxins and resolvins. The more aspirin you take the less epi-lipoxin is produced.EPA and DHA can inhibit Toll-like receptors and NF-kappa B involved in inflammation. Dietary changes can improve inflammation pro -resolving substances like lipoxins. But there may be a pharmaceutical approach using a lipoxin or resolvin like drug that is more stable and perhaps a way of having a localized effect.
