Guest guest
, In the US Seretide is Advair. The Advair website states: Common side effects of ADVAIR DISKUS for asthma include upper respiratory tract infection, throat irritation, hoarseness and voice changes, thrush in the mouth and throat, bronchitis, cough, headache, nausea, and vomiting. I take it and have not had problems. Rinsing the mouth after inhaling Advair is part of the protocol. Seritide and voice Has anyone else used seritide and found that it affects your voice? Mine seems to get quite husky and flat after I've used seritide for a few days.
Guest guest
Was just talking to pulmonologist about hoarseness/ husky voice from Advair yesterday. It was especially noticeable when my husband recently went on it; I'd just sort of gotten used to my revised " sultry " voice. She suggested that I try HFA version of Advair and said that once she made the change, her own voice issues cleared up. It's dispensed like albuterol (emergency inhaler) rather than in the powder disc of standard Advair. She also gave me a specially designed plastic tube, about size of a toilet tissue roll, that the HFA dispenser fits into and I'll draw the mist in from the other end. She says this makes for slower, deeper inhalation of the med so it goes further into the lungs. Haven't tried this yet but found it encouraging. > > > , > In the US Seretide is Advair. Guest guest
,Yes, I had that same side effect (voice change/cracking) and I not only gargled/rinsed once, but several times afterwards. I switched back to Flovent., the tube you are referring to, my pharmacist called it a 'spacer' and I never use my inhalers WITHOUT it! When I see someone put an inhaler up to their mouth and spray, I just think of all the meds that are NOT getting down into the lungs! I sure wish they had something like that for nasal sprays! (Hand held, not Naso-Neb)
