Guest guest
Stefano, I noticed in a previous post you inquired about using thuja I have taken homeopathic thuja 1M and my asthma went away overnight. it did not effect polyps, but it is great to have the asthma symptoms disappear. i begin aspirin desensitization on 1/30, and have been following your progress. I am glad to be doing it in a hospital setting and in theory it should take 2 days. Guest guest
Took 350mg yesterday without any other than my usual blocked nose which is on and off. I do feel some serious blockaid happening in my sinuses but without blowing my brains out it wont move. I going to move up to 450mg today, do you still take Thuja as I would like to try some out. I don't really have much asthma problem now but I still take my inhaler once a day instead of 4 times. I would like to try something else so i can stop my inhaler all together. diy desense had 175mg today and no reaction so tomorrow I am up to 200mg, will keep you all posted. My fingers seems to have lost the numb joint feeling as well. Guest guest
Stefano, I took the Thuja years ago. i only had to take it once and it worked. It held for about 3 years and then I took it again 1 time. Any homeopathic practitioner can make it up. For me the only effect was on my asthma. I have seen it is as proscribed for polyps, but so far for me only surgery and prednisone reduce my polyps. I am curious about the desensitization, and I experience it in 3 weeks. Stefano Henriko <skunkburner@...> wrote: Took 350mg yesterday without any other than my usual blocked nose which is on and off. Guest guest
Yesterday's dose was 500mg and today I will try 750mg. Still nothing more than a blocked nose. I intend to hit 1300mg this week and will stay at that for some time, can anyone shed some light on what I can expect to benefit when I hit 1300mg as I seem to have lost track of what I am waiting on.........My intention is to also have a cortocoid injection soon but as we are looking for a baby I want to have this shot after some news. diy desense had 175mg today and no reaction so tomorrow I am up to 200mg, will keep you all posted. My fingers seems to have lost the numb joint feeling as well. Guest guest
Stefano, The benefits of taking aspirin accumulate gradually over a few months. What you are looking for is to feel more like your normal self, like you did before your polyps grew out of control. I still have some allergies that will cause sneezing or asthma on occasion, but my day to day health is much more comfortable. I have regained my sense of smell but it is not strong. Some have referred to ASA desensitization as a magic bullet, but I think that is not an accurate metaphor because it doesn’t hit hard and fast. Guest guest
I don't know what you expect to suddenly happen when you hit the 1300 milligrams. I think there are two main benefits possible from aspirin desenitization. One, reduction in asthma symptoms. I had a HUGE reduction in mine. I think I am a little abnormal in this regard in how powerful this reduction was. I went from being hospitalized several times a year, often for a week or more, using a nebulizer at home all the time, and being on 50 milligrams and upwards daily dosage of prednisone ... to post-densitization never being hospitalized again for asthma or even visiting the emergency room, and now being completely controlled on one asthma med (Advair) and maybe once per year needing steroids for my asthma if I get a respiratory infection. I take Singulair also but it's for my polyps and does not strongly affect my asthma. The other main effect aspirin desensitization is known to have is lengthening of time between polyp surgery, reduction in polyp surgeries and/or slowing of growth of polyps. I had this as well, not as extreme but definitely an improvement. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Actually for some people it CAN hit hard and fast -- in my case it most certainly did in terms of the asthma. I don't think there is ANY magic bullet for Samter's, but I think, in the cases where it works, aspirin desensitizaton is the closest we have. I did not regain my sense of smell after desensitization.
