Guest guest
After three surgeries for polyps, 2-10mg Singulair daily has kept my polyps in check. My last two surgeries were 11 months apart. I have not been aspirin desensitized. One 325 mg aspiring put me in the emergency room but I have yet to find any food products that have any affect on me, including foods that obviously have Salicylates, like certain fruits, beverages, and vegetables. Here is a link that may give you some info: http://www.webmd.com/allergies/guide/salicylate-allergy As I mention with every post when people ask about what works for others......WE are all different and one of the strange things about Samter's is that what works on one person MAY or MAY NOT work on someone else. It is important to approach each change in medicine or diet with caution and under the guidance of a doctor that is familiar with Samters. > > Hello ,I am new to this group. Today I had my 5th polop surgery. I am 37. I guess I'm here to hear others experiences and what is working for them. I have read some of the posts and plan to read many more over the next few days of recovery. I am wondering about the effectiveness of singular, asprin desensitizing, and also curios if anyone has tried diet changes. My newest surgen at Emory has told me that while I am allergic to asprin it is the saliccilate sp? that is what sampters ppl are allergic too. apparently it is found in plants, vegs and fruits. whem I googled it I was overwhelmed with the long list of foods that contain these salicilates. Been thinking of eliminating some foods just to see how I feel. desperate. pls excuss the messiness of this post as I mentioned I just got out of surgery a few hrs ago. Thanks for any comments:0) >
