Guest guest
I am very curious, what is better about Kenalog than prednisone? Isn't Kenalog a systemic steroid, too? Therefore doesn't it have the same long-term side effects that prednisone does? Any more information would be helpful. I have looked up this a bit on the Internet but it seems to be inconclusive. Thanks, Lori
Guest guest
Yes, Kenalog is systemic, but it is slowly released over a long period of time rather then being dumped in your system all at once like oral prednisone. Prednisone had very troubling side-effects for me, even in the short term. Kenalog has not. Long-term, well, only time can tell. I have gained 20 pounds since I have become able properly to taste my food. Karl W.
Guest guest
Karl, I stumbled across your site which led me here initially. I did read the stuff about Kenalog. Actually, I've had one shot of kenalog but it was just a little bit intranasally. My ENT injected the kenalog directly into some scar tissue in my sinus. He did the same yesterday with dexamethasone (another steroid - kinda like prednisone but much stronger) He is also having me use dexamethasone eye drops as a nose drop daily. This was an experiment he picked up at a med conference. When you get the kenalog shots does it interfere with sleep, make you agitated, or want to eat everything in sight? Those tend to be my side effects with predisone. The last dose made me very touchy as well. Thanks for the links on your site to this group. BTW I live at the other end of NC. I promise not to make any jokes about ECTC.<g> - > , you might want to consider Kenalog as an alternative to > prednisone.
