Guest guest
The bill does not seem out of line. I had desense done in February and I had bills from doctor and hospital (my first day I was checked in). My doctor bill was extreme for the first day since he was with me the whole time. His bill for days two and three were lower since he only checked in on me every two hours. I think that his bill was about what you paid your doctor. Sorry to hear that the polyps are sneaking back. I had a session on Prednisone prior to that and that reduced the polyps significantly. Am now taking 650mg of aspirin a day. For the first 4 weeks after desens I felt great. No rhinitis nor polyps nor inhaler usage. But now its back to the rhinitis and polyp(s). I see a huge one in right nostril. (Actually purchased a cheap lighted scope from Walgreens to look inside). Now I am somewhat disappointed in the return of some of the symptoms. But I am glad that I can now take aspirin and benefit from that with no known ill effects. Another dis-appointing part was my bill from the physicians. They charged $750 a day for the giving of the aspirin and stopping in to check on me. My Blue Cross paid 80% of it. All the other charges were reduced by Blue Cross contractually on the PPO contract. Does this $2,250(3 days) seem high? I have learned a tremendous amount from this site. Thank you to all of you. Guest guest
Reading your entry is making me look again at my own desens situation. I am almost one year post desens and was feeling incredible until I had to have sinus surgery to correct a deviated septum in December. I have been plagued with horrendous sinus infections since. I am no longer able to tolerate any steriods, for some reason. It doesn't matter whether its Medrol or Prednisone, when I take even one, I am knocked over with an incapacitating migraine. I have wondered since December if I became resensitized to aspirin although, my ENT says it is unlikely. (I was only off aspirin for 2 days over surgery, according to Scripps, this should not cause resensitization.) Anyway, my friend, reading that you were again having sinus issues and polyps only after 4 weeks has me fearfully thinking that I need to bite the bullet and go get looked at for polyps. I'm so depressed!!! Does anyone know of a good doc who has perfected the head transplant yet? I'm still waiting!!! Thank you all for continuing to post on this lovely condition we all share. I think we have one heck of a "post-life" Samters party awaiting us when we all meet in the great beyond someday! Guest guest
Head transplant would help but I think I need to jack up my scalp and drive a new body under it. Carl
Guest guest
Carl I’ll stand in line for that. I think if all my wrinkles were grabbed and pulled back I’d have a nice long pony tail to go with it plus the weight of the pony tail might even the nasal passages a bit. Guest guest
Look, I don't want to scare the medical community out there! Could we just start with asking about head transplants?
