I am just sitting here laughing looking at archives about mucus.... I feel so

at home as people have referred to them as " snot rockets " and other lovely

names. I thought I would share my husbands name for my mucus that really has a

life of it's own...

The sentient snot monster. Really I think this is perfect. Someday I just

expect something to crawl out on it's own alive.... If it were only that easy.

Having said that, does anyone have to blow really forcefully to get mucus out.

I am fine now as I am on a prednisone taper. But during the year I can feel

any crust or item " up there " and it really bothers me. I really is amazing what

we produce... isn't it?

I call them turtles - particularly the ones I wash out when I am doing a nasal lavage with the water pik and nasal canula. Of course with all the wonderful colors, they often look like turtles racing for the drain in the bathroom sink.Yuck!Been a tough allergy season in Florida. Been on the lavage 2x a day to keep it clear and dry.ieOn Aug 2, 2011, at 3:52 AM, teacher01 wrote:

Living in Florida, and a lover of seafood, I just think of the thick mucus

discharge as free raw oysters.

Love this conversation! I'm sure that even though we are probably not supposed to, most of us (I certainly do) blow forcefully to try to get an irritating snot moster out :-)
