Guest guest
Hi: I just saw one of these guys (Kishiyama) and he was a great immediate help to me. They are in the South SF Bay. Check out the resumes, all of the docs have serious credentials. As always, your mileage may vary. http://allergycare.com/allergy_asthma_physicians.htm > > I was hoping someone might have a recommendation for a doctor they LOVE in Northern California. I had found a doctor in Texas while visiting my dad (Dr. Legere in Austin - I know someone was recently looking for a recommendation) that I absolutely loved. I felt like I was no longer floating in limbo and that someone was able to actually help me. I've been considering flying back to see him, but it would be great if someone has the same feeling about a doc in the northern California area. > > Thanks in advance! >
Guest guest
I live in Orange County (Southern) California, and off hand, I don’t know of a clinic in the north that performs aspirin desensitization. Furthermore, I can’t recommend physicians in your area. I underwent desensitization at Scripps, north of San Diego, and I would recommend that staff very highly. Also, the UCLA Med Center has initiated an aspirin desensitization program at the Santa branch. My suggestion in order to find a physician in the north, would be to call the Scripps Clinic, and ask for a referral from the staff that deals with Samter’s. They get desensitization patients from all over, so they probably have worked with physicians in other parts of California and county. Guest guest
Dr Kari Nadeau did my desensitization at Stanford. Unfortunately I was incompletely desensitized (or something) and I had to stop taking ASA after 7 months due to intractable asthma symptoms. Hope this helps.Jim A.From: Phil Morse <disaggregator@...>samters Sent: Monday, August 1, 2011 1:19 PMSubject: RE: Doctor Recommendation for Northern California? Guest guest
In Truckee Chase, MD is familiar with Samters. It was he who diagnosed mine. We have been able to keep my polyps at bay. He removed them surgically several years ago. And during a follow up I mentioned I had a reaction to Naproxyn that I had taken after shoulder surgery the night before. With that he made the connection to Samters even though I don't have the asthma component. My most annoying symptom is the anosmia which unfortunately also interferes with taste. Guest guest
Agreed! I lost my SOS in 1999 and two polyp surgeries and mega use of prednisone has not helped. At all. Am currently on day 9 for aspirin desens. Am only taking 40 mg and keeping fingers crossed that once I get to 325mg that I will start to see improvement for my SOS. in PNW > > > > > Much agreed... not only the loss of smell but taste.
