Guest guest
Seven years ago I was very very allergic to aspirin and very sick, especially with asthma. NOTHING helped my asthma, even large doses of steroids. Getting desensitzed to aspirin means you're NOT allergic to it anymore, and the only symptoms it could cause are thinning of the blood and if you're unlucky stomach problems. But I dind't have too much trouble with those side effects (NO stomach problems for seven years on aspirin) and whatever they were they were so much less than my trouble with asthma and nasal polyps. I thought (and several doctors told me) if we dind't get my asthma under control I was going to DIE from it sooner or later. Aspirin desensitization does not work for everyone but I'm telling you, it worked for me and it works for many, many people. My symptoms certainly were NOT caused by daily doses of aspirin. In fact, since I became sensitize to aspirin I had only taken it twice in five years and I was sick all the time. Once you become sensitize to it if you have Samters your body acts like the allergen is still in your body all the time. The desensitization process means your body is sort of " immune " to the allergic effects of the aspirin. It's like taking allergy shots. Same exact principle. So stay away from aspirin desensitization if you like. I personally KNOW it saved my life. Lori
Guest guest
Lori, I had the EXACT same problems as you. I was pretty much on my death bed with asthma (in fact I did code) and the only thing that helped with my asthma was the aspirin desensitation. a --- Lori Baur <truelori@...> wrote: > Seven years ago I was very very allergic to aspirin > and very sick, > especially with asthma.
