Every month for about three years I've been monitoring the national weather

maps that report humidity, pollen, mold, etc. in hopes of finding the

perfect location to live. My results indicate that the best place would be

Los Vagas, NV. However, there's a member of this group that lives there and

still experiences polyp problems. Secondly in June, July and August when the

temps are conitually above 110 degrees, you would have to worry about heat

stroke. So to answer your question I have no idea.

Best place to live with Samters

This is more of an opinion poll than looking for any real facts. But, I

lived in Florida for 25 years. It was recommended that I move out west to

dryer air in hopes of the different climate slowing down the polyp growth.

Once I moved to Colorado I went for 7 years without a polyp surgery. Then I

needed surgery again and have had 4 more surgeries in 15 years. I am

wondering if anyone in this group has ever been told that a certain location

would be best for slowing down the sinus polyp issues.

Hi all

Here in the UK I had the "bingo card" type of allergy test on my arm several years ago. When I scored a "full house" the allergy consultant suggested that I consider seeking employment on a North Sea oil rig well away from land. I would also need to ensure that the rig had no window boxes with flowers growing or take any leave......

Sometimes here in England we get what appear to be green clouds that are in fact masses of birch tree pollen coming in from Scandanavian countries several hundred miles away so I fear where ever we live there is little chance of ensuring the quality of atmosphere we would all like

Perhaps we should try to get a Samters sufferer on the International Space Station for a month or two

I like the idea of the International Space Station. I'll raise my hand and volunteer for the first experiment up there! I am thinking at this point that I was dropped off on the wrong planet as I am sooooo alergic to this one! Thanks for responding Mike!Jane

I was originally tested for environmental allergies, and started allergy shots.

It's been 6+ years now, and the shots haven't helped my Samters symptoms.

I live in a very dry desert area, and have most of my life.

I've travelled all over the world, and spent about 4 months in Georgia (very

humid, different allergens), and had no change in my Sampters. (my wife has

regular allergies, and gets much better after a couple of days staying somewhere

with higher humidity).

So in my case, moving wouldn't help. I believe in my case it's still

sensitivity to salicylates (even though I'm desensitized and take aspirin each

day) and sensitive/allergic to various foods and additives, which I'm still

trying to identify.

After I ingest something that I'm sensitive to, my sinuses get swollen, I start

wheezing, and the polyps that I can see in my nose swell up for several days.

I've only had one surgery about 4 years ago, and the polyps were back within 2

months, even though I was using nasal steroid sprays, getting Xolair injections,

etc. I'm not going to have another surgery until I know I can keep the polyps

at bay.
