Guest guest
For those of you who haven't been desensitized and/or try to avoid salicylates, what brand of toothpaste do you use? I referred to the Feingold handbook for stage 1, and there are a very limited number of mail order, expensive types listed. Surely there must be something I can get at Whole Foods or a health food store? Do you use other low-salicylate personal items (deodorant, shampoo, etc), and if so, have you found it helps? Thanks, Mcrae
Guest guest
I've been using " Natural Dentist " from the Vitamin Shoppe. It comes in 2 flavors that Ive seen - orange and grape. I just use the orange. There is a Vitamin Shoppe in my town, and if they don't have it, they can order it. Sometimes I find in there for about $3 a tube, and I'll buy several tubes. It's not very expensive, and it doesn't taste too bad. Very light taste. Have no problems with that brand. It has fluoride and is accepted by the ADA, and have had no teeth problems. If I use any other type of toothpaste (especially any mint flavor), I begin wheezing immediately. Have no problems with the Natural Dentist brand. Haven't tried other low-salicylate items. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Mcrae I had a lot of trouble with toothpaste and tried a range of brands & for a while focused on cheap brands where I thought they may not have so many fancy ingredients. In the end, rather surprisingly, I found that here in the UK Colgate gel Maxfresh Clear Mint with cooling crystals was fine. Perhaps a gel rather than a paste was part of the solution. Just another part of the random nature of Samters I suspect Regards Mike samters From: mcraemills@...Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2011 13:50:24 +0000Subject: Toothpaste Brand For those of you who haven't been desensitized and/or try to avoid salicylates, what brand of toothpaste do you use?
